Peter Santosa is employed as a Scientist within the RCPA QAP Pty Ltd (Biosecurity program) in affiliation with the Virology Research Laboratory (VRL), Prince of Wales Hospital. He completed his Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) at the University of New South Wales in 2018. His Honours research year was conducted within the VRL in 2018 under the supervision of Dr Wendy van Zuijlen and Professor William Rawlinson where he attempted to identify Human Cytomegalovirus (HCMV) genes that inhibit placental trophoblast migration.
Within his current position, Peter prepares simulated viral specimen modules which are subsequently sent out to laboratories participating in proficiency testing programs. Through these programs, laboratories can validate their proficiency in detecting certain pathogens which in turn assures the quality of their clinical results.
